The Last Road

A sad song, about lives that have long been lived side by side, finally parting ways.

Written Summer 2001

All my hidden fears
Suddenly loom near
Unspoken Never
Suddenly is here

Watched it all slide past
Everything so fast
And I would give the world
If forever this could last

So stop the hands of Time tonight
Let this moment never cease
Together we can take this night
And hold it to Eternity

Walk with me one last time
This last road by my side
For as the End draws near
We approach this last Goodbye

Where to now I do not know
But I don’t know how to let you go
And if I could keep you here with me
I’d hold on to this life and never let go

So stop the hands of Time tonight

Because in one short moment this life is going to end
In the blink of an eye everything's going to change
But as we make a new life in a new world far from here
I hope these paths will cross again

Sometimes that seems like it....you are so in the moment and you love what is happening around you so much that you would never want to give it up. With god, you can live forever in that moment. With another person, thats different. When you stare into their eyes you feel security and you feel like nothing can ever go wrong. Its almost like telling them what you are thinking without actually saying it. You want so bad for them to know and you want them to feel the same. I think the hardest part is realizing that the other person doesnt know what you are thinking and the only way for them to know is if you tell them. Explain to them how the moment feels. Don't brush it off. If you want the moment to last forever then you need to take a chance. Give the world. (thats what i was thinking when i read this.)
